Get to know the Lençóis Maranhenses, unique phenomenon worldwide. It’s a tropical desert bathed by rivers and lagoons the size of São Paulo city. Visit communities and villages, like charming Jericoacoara, an isolated and faraway place. Nevertheless it offers great cuisine choices and activities. By air (on board in a twin-engine plane), by land (riding a 4X4) or by water (in motorboats), unmask the natural beauties of each of the three states covered in this itinerary : Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará.
Day 1 – Discover São Luis’s historical center and find an example of the past that has become present.
Day 2 – Fly over the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park in an unforgettable panoramic flight. Bathe in the lagoon waters and comfortably relax in the Porto Preguiças Resort.
Day 3 – Float down the Formiga river and hike over the lakes and dunes. Return by motorboat to Porto Preguiças in time for supper.
Day 4 – Motorboat ride by the Formiga river, visit a small village and have a nice panoramic view of the dunes from Mandacaru’s lighthouse.
Day 5 – Admire the breathtaking views on the way from Luis Correa to Jericoacoara, with a break for a delicious lunch. In “Jeri”, check in the comfortable Pousada Vila Kalango.
Day 6 – Trek to the famous Pedra Furada. Take the buggy in Lagoa do Paraíso and Preá village’s direction.
Day 7 – Day off. Enjoy horseback riding, a nice walk or just relaxing by the lagoons. Carpe diem!
Day 8 – Relax in the hotel facilities before returning home.

It is simply not possible to resist the spells of Porto Preguiças. This extremely sophisticated resort has its own private beach and a 700m² artificial pod. Located in the National Park's entrance, its installations surprise for its quality and style.
HOTEL: Islamar - Luis Corrêa – Piauí
This hotel has quite an strategic location for our journey. It was built on Praia do Coqueiro, Luis Correa, right in front of the sea. Aside from the different style (Swiss cottages), it counts on amazingly comfortable, nicely decorated apartments and the typical “Piauian” special service.
HOTEL : Vila Kalango* – Jericoacoara – Ceará
Definetely Jeri's most charming inn. Located in front of the sea. For its construction typical regional materials were used, and for the decoration, local crafts. Luxuriously rustic, comfortable and in good taste.
